Product Details

The Clarius L7 HD3 is a lightweight, handheld wireless ultrasound scanner that brings high-definition imaging directly to the patient. It connects to a compatible smartphone or tablet, removing the need for a scanner cable or conventional console. Its rechargeable battery provides approximately 60 minutes of typical scanning for convenient use across consulting rooms, treatment areas and procedure spaces.

Its 4–13MHz range provides the penetration needed to examine anatomy to 15cm while retaining a linear view for shallower structures. This broad depth range supports varied patient sizes and helps practitioners visualise hips, deeper muscles, joints, nerves, vessels and surrounding soft tissue.

B-Mode provides real-time anatomical imaging, while M-Mode supports movement assessment over time. Colour and Power Doppler add blood-flow information for vascular assessment and procedure planning. These standard capabilities support musculoskeletal and orthopaedic assessment, pain management, regional anaesthesia, vascular access, guided procedures and appropriate pre-, intra- and postoperative imaging.

*Optional software packages add advanced imaging modes, speciality presets, AI-assisted tools, procedure recording, Clarius Cloud and DICOM connectivity.

Plastic Surgery Applications:

  • Deeper Body-Tissue Assessment: Visualise fat layers, muscles, fascia, vessels and surrounding soft tissue to 15cm.
  • Abdominal and Gluteal Imaging: Assess abdominal-wall, fat-layer and gluteal anatomy during appropriate surgical workflows.
  • Vascular Mapping: Use Colour and Power Doppler to locate vessels and assess blood flow around the surgical area.
  • Surgical-Plane Assessment: Examine relevant tissue layers, vessels and deeper anatomy during procedure planning.
  • Procedure Guidance: Visualise suitable deeper targets and needle paths during appropriate guided procedures.
  • Perioperative Assessment: Support appropriate pre-, intra- and postoperative assessment of soft tissue and surgical anatomy.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):

  • When Should a Practice Choose the L7 HD3?
Choose it when examinations involve deeper joints, muscles, nerves, vessels, varied patient depths or procedural targets located as deep as 15cm.
  • How Does Frequency Affect L7 HD3 Imaging?
Lower frequencies provide greater penetration. The 4–13MHz range balances image detail with access to superficial and deeper anatomy.
  • What Do B-Mode and M-Mode Show?
B-Mode displays real-time two-dimensional anatomy. M-Mode tracks movement along a selected ultrasound line over time.
  • Why Are 192 Piezoelectric Elements and Eight Beamformers Significant?
The elements capture detailed ultrasound data, while the beamformers process it rapidly to support clear, smooth real-time imaging.
  • Does Scanning Require an Internet Connection?
No. The scanner connects directly to the compatible smartphone or tablet through Wi-Fi. Internet access is needed for connected services such as Clarius Cloud, DICOM and remote sharing.
  • Can the Scanner Be Used During Sterile Procedures?
Yes, when used with a compatible approved sterile sheath and the cleaning and disinfection procedures specified in the User Manual.
  • What Does an Advanced Software Package Add, and Can It Be Added Later?
Depending on the package and region, it adds advanced Doppler, Needle Enhance, elastography, AI-assisted tools, Voice Controls, recording, sharing and connected workflows. Eligible packages can be added later.
